This holiday season might mark the initial one following the loss of a loved one. The holidays can become hard for many as grief tends to cling to us. It doesn’t just affect us personally; it also becomes intertwined with specific moments and locations.
This lecture will include how to cope with the emotions and feelings of the season, how to handle holiday traditions, and what to do differently – and the same.
Presented by Garrett Walkup, RNVAhealth Manager of Bereavement, Social Work, and Pastoral Care Services.
Steve Gould, Tom McCullough, and Alden Burns from the Danbury Railway Museum will be presenting a brief history of railroading in Danbury and the museum itself. Started in 1994, the Danbury Railway Museum has been educating the public about railroad history for 30 years next year. Located in historic Danbury Union Station and Danbury Rail Yard, the museum sports a collection of over seventy-five historic artifacts, a functioning turntable, short train rides, a research and reference library, exhibits and displays, and so much more. During their presentation they’re looking to raise awareness about the museum, railroad history, and recruit new volunteers.
